So, I don’t make a habit of hanging out in five star hotels. Definitely not. Mainly as I can’t afford it, but generally like a more ‘laid back’ environment. However, this was a ‘special occasion’ celebrating a professional qualification with my husband and parents. After the presentation ceremony, we headed here for ‘Afternoon Tea’ in the Rosebery Lounge of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hyde Park.
As I feel is going to be a theme of this blog, I was too busy drinking champagne, various different teas and munching on the never ending supply of sandwiches, cakes and scones to take many photos. I think they schedule about two hours for each afternoon tea ‘sitting’, but we were there for well over three hours. Service was, as you might expect, exemplary. The teas were amazing, the food gorgeous and beautifully presented.
I would definitely recommend the Mandarin for a ‘special occasion’….or just a random weekend if you can afford it 😉
